Childhood poverty increases the risk of poor health, poor educational achievement, unemployment, teenage pregnancy, criminality and so on.
Addressing it would not
only enrich the lives of the children concerned, it would reduce the
money we're spending responding to those issues.
Tackling Child Poverty should be PRIORITY
Tackling Child Poverty should be PRIORITY
A few examples to prioritize child poverty: teachers are some schools are spending money on food for hungry
kids when that money should be spent in their education. If kids aren’t fed, they can’t
learn. Student achievements. Poverty particularly in early life,
has negative effects. Ignoring the problem is greater
than solving the problem. Lets put the money up front and
prevent this, kids leaving school early, getting a productive healthy society. The money is spent anyway, criminal and
corrections system, diabetes (we need to spend it in the first 5 years of life). Some families are too poor to feed
children. Lets use tax credit, family tax
credit in poor younger kids. Money going from fathers but not
going to children, government keeps it, it will help kids..we can help with
under 2 dollars a day. Net cost per child is very low,
but organising it is very difficult, teachers for example need to concentrate
in teaching 270.000 kids leaving under poverty.
